This lesson is designed to support student understanding of antonyms. Students begin by sorting words into either a "long e" or short e" category.
The two instructional blocks in this lesson focus on identifying antonyms for words and using antonyms for words in order to complete sentences.
In the first instructional block, students match words to their antonyms as well as generate antonyms for specific words.
The second instructional block focuses on using antonyms to complete sentences. Students generate antonyms based on the context of the sentence.
