The first instructional block begins by providing an overview of different types of punctuation. It progresses by having students explore when and how to use italics and commas.
The second instructional block focuses on editing passages. Students will identify and correct the sentences that use incorrect punctuation in the context of a dialogue.
Passages are intentionally built throughout the lesson to support deeper understanding and allow students to practice the skill in context.
