The focus of this lesson is to support student understanding around the editing process as it relates to capitalization. Students beginning by sorting adjectives and writing sentences with proper nouns.
The instructional block in this lesson focuses on capitalization errors as it relates to acronyms, abbreviations, organizations and initials. Students read passages and identify the words that require capitalization.
Sentence frames are built into the examples to support task initiation for students. Passages are intentionally built throughout the lesson to support deeper understanding and allow students to practice the skill in context.
