This lesson is designed to support student understanding of editing drafts to include correct subject-verb agreement. Students begin by unscrambling parts of a sentence and identifying different parts of speech.
The instructional block in this lesson focuses on subject-verb agreement. Students examine simple and compound sentences and find examples of subjects and verbs that do not agree. Students then identify what changes need to be made and edit the sentence so there is subject-verb agreement.
Passages are in the present tense.
