This lesson is designed to support student understanding of decoding regular and irregular plurals. Students begin by completing a paragraph with the correct homophone and categorizing nouns as either singular or plural.
The two instructional blocks in this lesson focus on decoding regular and irregular plurals. In the first instructional block students practice decoding regular plural words.
In the second instructional block students decode irregular plural words.
Passages are intentionally built throughout the lesson to support deeper understanding and allow students to practice the skill in context.
