This lesson is designed to support students' understanding of the order of the planets in our solar system, beginning with the Sun.
The lesson begins by introducing the four inner, terrestrial planets and then moves on to the four outer, gas giant planets. Students will learn and use mnemonic devices to remember the order of all eight planets.
This serves as the students' first formal introduction to the planets in our solar system, providing a foundational knowledge that will be expanded upon in 7th grade.
