The two instructional blocks in this lesson focus on reading, saying and writing the time on digital clocks and determining if a time is a.m. or p.m.
In the first instructional block, students read, say and write the time displayed on digital clocks.
The second instructional block focuses on breaking apart a 24 hour day into two equal groups of 12 hours, a.m. and p.m. Students use clues about the time of day like if it is day or night to determine if a time is a.m. or p.m.
Scaffolds and supports such as real-life examples of activities that occur throughout the day are intentionally built throughout the lesson to support conceptual learning.
