This lesson is designed to support student understanding of number lines.
The two instructional blocks in this lesson focus on locating numbers on a number line and naming numbers on a number line.
In the first instructional block, students look at the numbers given on a number line, and then identify where a certain number would be located based on the points they are given.
The second instructional block focuses on identifying the number based on a point given on a number line.
Scaffolds and supports such as visual representations and models are intentionally built throughout the lesson to support conceptual learning.
